Our Latest Update
2022
It's been busy on the ground here in Zimbabwe - lots of new faces on the Rangelands team, our first cattle sale, cookstove distribution, fighting forest fires, and you can check out our first video to see more of this incredible landscape, the challenges communities face and the enormous opportunity for better future.
In March and April we reached some massive milestone for the Integrated Management Area. We established the ‘IMA Foundation Board’, formalising our partnership with local communities; started woodlots and building energy-efficient cookstoves to start addressing deforestation; welcomes new faces to the Rangelands Team, and more!
February was full of meetings, discussions and workshops with all our partners drilling into the details for the ‘Integrated Management Area’ (or community wildlife conservancy).
This is all an intensive process but really exciting to see our vision on the way to become a reality…

2021
Dave’s been in Glasgow, sharing our project at COP26, we’ve welcomed new faces to the Rangelands Team, installed VIA tools with small-scale irrigators to save water and increase crop yields, broken ground on our Livestock Business Centre and more!
Early November has been a busy time for the team. Traditional leadership validated 100% community-wide support for our project, Dave was in Glasgow sharing our project at COP26, a visit from the Australian Embassy Team, and plans to visit the African Centre for Holistic Manage with local farmers.
In October we wrapped up our month-long process of community consultations – tired and dusty but thrilled by the support from community! Cattle in rural communities in Zimbabwe are important culturally, and livestock provide an important source of income. Poor grazing management has led to land degradation and made the area more vulnerable to drought and floods and a tougher place to live.

It’s been a busy start to 2021 for the Rangelands Team and we’re excited to have ramped things up with more of our team landing on the ground in Zimbabwe.
We’ve set up Rangelands HQ and ramped up our community engagement and consultations - driving hundreds of kilometres, wading through rivers and rebuilding roads on the way.
